Former Nigerian international, Edema Fuludu, has added his voice to the debate whether former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama should return to the national team ahead ofthe2018 FIFA World Cup.
Fuludu who spoke to The Authority Sports in Abuja said it will be counter- productive to have the former Enyimba International of Aba to be part of the squad in Russia, warning that such could bring disharmony to the now cohesive team.
According to him, such will only amount to encouraging somebody to reap where he did not sow.
However, the former New Nigerian Bank player admitted that the goalkeeping area is very important in a team, but quickly posited that the same players who struggled to qualify the team should also be given the opportunity to represent the country at the Mundial.
“If somebody is unable to play in the qualifiers by circumstances and somebody else stepped in and a team qualified, why would you bring the person back just after qualifying? It can bring disharmony in the system.
“Yes, a coach will stick to what he thinks will work for him, but if Enyeama was disabled for instance, we will still go to the World Cup.Again if his coming will bring disharmony we will not bring him because it is always elimination by substitution.
“I am of the opinion that if Enyeama has resigned, let it stay, but if he wants to come back to the national team, let it be after the World Cup” he concluded.
