REPORT: Real set to sack Lopetegui in the next 72 hours
The report in Spain claimed that Real Madrid directors are set to relief Julen Lopetegui of his duties at the Santiago Bernabeu after a disappointing start to the season.
Real Madrid has equally lined up his replacement, with Santiago Solari posed to replace the former FC Porto and Spanish national team manager.
The European Champions suffered a shocking defeat of 2-1 to Levante at the home on Saturday which piles up pressure on Lopetegui after the team has previously gone four games without a win and also failing to find the back of the net in those games.
Real Madrid has dropped out of Champions League spot after a dreadful start to the season under Lopetegui who replaced Zinedine Zidane in the summer.
According to a report in Spanish media outlet, Marca claims they are ready to wield the axe before their Champions League match with Viktoria Plzen at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.
Real Madrid B manager Solari is tipped to replace under-fire Lopetegui, although the senior players in the squad are not happy with the Argentine taking over the main team.
Solari was a former Real Madrid player, he was part of the team that won the 2002 Champions League, to his name he also won two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups, one UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup for the Los Blancos.
He went on to win Serie A three times with Inter Milan as well as the Coppa Italia.
However, It is said the players are not convinced he is ready to take a job of such magnitude and Ok Dario claim they are right behind Lopetegui.
Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho and Roberto Martinez are also linked with the Real Madrid hot seat.
